Mentorship & Civic Education Are Key Components To Transformative Society
In a bid to uplift and empower communities, especially the youth, collaborative efforts spearheaded by Martin Madaraka, a Global Peace Foundation Kenya, Presidents Fellow Cohort 1, alongside the Young Leaders Association, brought forth an impactful mentorship and awareness program at Maweni Village.

In a bid to uplift and empower communities, especially the youth, collaborative efforts spearheaded by Martin Madaraka, a Global Peace Foundation Kenya, Presidents Fellow Cohort 1, alongside the Young Leaders Association, brought forth an impactful mentorship and awareness program at Maweni Village. The program, aptly dubbed 'Maweni Mtaa Poa: Maweni to the World,' saw various stakeholders, including Community Policing, Vijana Kwanza, Community Health Promoters, and Members of Blue Cross Kenya, coming together to engage and educate the youths and teens of Maweni.

The event served as a platform for crucial discussions covering a spectrum of topics essential for the holistic development of the youth:

1. Health Talk: Promoting awareness about health and wellness among the youth, ensuring they understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

2. Spiritual Talk: Nurturing the spiritual well-being of the youth, offering guidance and support in navigating their faith and beliefs.

3. Peace Talk: Instilling values of peacebuilding and conflict resolution, fostering a harmonious environment of peaceful co-existence within the community.

4. Talent Empowerment Talk: Encouraging the youth to explore and harness their talents, providing them with avenues for skill development and self-expression.

5. Administration Talk: Educating the youth on administrative processes and civic responsibilities, empowering them to actively participate in governance and good decision-making.

6. Society Wellbeing: Addressing societal issues and challenges, fostering a sense of responsibility and commitment towards community development.

The program received warm appreciation from the Maweni community, who expressed their gratitude towards the organizers and pledged their support towards the campaign's objectives. It was heartening to witness the community's willingness to collaborate and work hand in hand towards a brighter future for Maweni Village.

In attendance of this event were figures such as Hon.Peter Mbogho Shake Member Of Parliament Mwatate Constituency,Governor's Office & Political Advisor .Mr.Richard Lukindo, Hon. Judith Wabosha, Hon. Hope Anisa, Tavevo Managing Director Kiongozi Mbiko, Hon. Calist Mwatela St. Joseph Shelter of Hope, and many others who contributed their time, resources, and expertise towards making this program a resounding success.

The Global Peace Foundation Kenya expresses delight that Martin Madaraka, having undergone the President Fellowship training program, continues to actively engage in community development initiatives.
